If you are interested in any of these positions to help to make the 2024 Science Festival the best event ever, please indicate which position(s) you are interested in in a cover letter via email: If you are flexible, please let me know if you have an order preference for the internships, or let me know the subset of internship positions you would be happy to do (or if you would like to be an At Large intern who is willing to do anything at any time); additionally, please explain if you would like internship credit (must apply for this through the Career Development Center), or Physics 1102 (Science Outreach) credit, or if you would not like to receive credit (and be what is called a volunteer intern). Be sure to indicate which academic sessions you plan to commit to this internship and also include a resume. Submit to Dr. Sheldon (or Dr. Warren for Little Scientists) by the priority deadline of September 29 to start in session 2 or November 3, 2023 (extended to 11/10) to start in session 3 for any internships that are not yet filled. After these dates, we will start to assign internship positions; we will continue to accept applications until all positions are filled.
Any student may do this for credit through Physics 1102: Science Outreach, and you would still list an internship on your resume. Or, to obtain EXL credit from the internship office, you must be a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior and have a minimum GPA of 2.3. A third option is to do it as a volunteer (non-credit) internship (not available to non-US citizens).
